The Ting Tings

The Ting Tings est un groupe anglais pop crée en 2006 et composé de deux membres : Jules De Martino (batterie, voix) et de Katie White (voix, guitare et basse). Ils sont originaires de Islington Mill, Salford, Royaume-Uni. Le mot tīng signifie écouter en chinois.

Leur premier album, We Started Nothing, sort le 19 mai 2008. Great DJ, That's not my name et Shut up and let me go en sont les singles disponibles. Le single That's not my name a atteint la 1ère place le 18 mai 2008.

Ils forment les Ting Tings après une première (mauvaise) expérience dans le trio Dear Eskiimo, nommé ainsi par une collègue chinoise de White quand elle travaillait dans une boutique qui lui a dit que le nom était celui d'un vieux kiosque en Mandarin.

Shut up and let me go est utilisé pour la publicité de l'iPod en avril 2008. Cette chanson fait l'objet d'un mashup publié sur Internet, avec Another One Bites the Dust de Queen.
