The Puppini Sisters

Les Puppini Sisters sont un trio féminin de pop/jazz/easy listening britannique spécialisé dans la musique vocale a cappella inspirée par la technique Close Harmony, très utilisée dans les années 1940. Leur style se veut à la fois glamour, kitsch, rétro et burlesque.

Ses membres sont l'italienne Marcella Puppini et les anglaises Stephanie O'Brien et Kate Mullins. Leur nom a été choisi en référence aux Andrews Sisters. Marcella Puppini, italienne expatriée en Angleterre, a d'abord étudié le stylisme à la St Martins School of Art avant de rencontrer Stephanie O'Brien et Kate Mullins au Trinity College of Music de Londres. Le groupe a été fondé par Puppini après qu'elle eut vu Les Triplettes de Belleville. Elles citent également l'influence des Andrews Sisters, des Boswell Sisters, de Marlene Dietrich, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Joan Crawford mais aussi Kate Bush, Mike Flowers, The Smiths, Tom Waits, Carole King et même Marilyn Manson.
