Informations sur Systemwide
Systemwide
The intricate sonic oddity that is dub; an independant, one could almost say alive, entity that was born in Kingston, Jamaica in the late 1960's and which has, since then, overflowed into the world; spawning countless incarnations over time depending on the various cultures it has grafted itself unto. Many forms, many mutations of dub.North America is no exception to this rule and the city of Portland, Oregon had it's own version of the warped sounds of reggae to propose to the world: the band Systemwide.
This was back in the late 1990's, early 2000's. Since then, the band has ceased to produce music although the frontman, Ezra Ereckson aka DjE3 continues to this day to Dj at the Atlas International Heat night in Portland alongside Dj Anjali and The Incredible Kid. Nonetheless, the impact Systemwide has left on the musical map is still felt because of it's novel offering of driven dubby basslines, weird synthetizer effects and explorations, sniped dj sampling and scratches, precise drumming, post-apocalyptic vibes and sometimes, engaged vocal contributions by Ezra himself.
