Informations sur Elvis Costello

Elvis Costello (° 25 août 1954), de son vrai nom Declan Patrick Aloysius McManus, est un auteur, compositeur et chanteur de rock britannique. D'ascendance irlandaise, il est très populaire au Royaume-Uni. Il est marié avec Diana Krall. Il eu une liaison avec Bebe Buell, mannequin et mère de Liv Tyler, à la fin des annéess 70 puis au milieu des années 80. De 1986 à 2002, il a été marié avec Cait O'Riordan, des Pogues, dont il a produit l'album "Rum, Sodomy & the Lash" (1985).

Il apparait en même temps que le mouvement punk de plus il signe un contrat avec le label indépendant STIFF ce qui contribue un peu plus à l'assimiler à ce mouvement . Il a un peu exploré la musique new wave, avant de développer son propre style dans les années 1980.

Il a fait des apparitions dans la série télévisée les Simpson, dans le film De-Lovely (2004), interprétant la chanson Let's Misbehave de Cole Porter, ou encore dans le film Austin Powers : L'Espion qui m'a tirée, dans son propre rôle. Il joue son propre rôle dans le film de Muriel Teodori : Sans Plomb, avec Emma de Caunes et Alain Souchon en 2000, et aussi dans le film de Tom DiCillo, Delirious, où le personnage principal est un admirateur de ce musicien.
