Informations sur Crippled Black Phoenix

Projet collectif formé autours de Justin Greaves (Electric Wizard, Iron Monkey), Dominic Aitchison (bassiste de Mogwai), Crippled Black Phoenix (littéralement le phoenix noir boiteux), réunit notamment la paire Andy Semmens / Kostas Panagiotou (Pantheist), Nial McGoghey de 3D House of of beef ou Joe Volk Gonga... Des adeptes de sludge-graisseux, de stoner-doom hypnotique et de post-rock évanescent, autant d'influences à passer dans le mixeur pour en extraire l'essence de Crippled Black Phoenix.
Une musique au croisement du post-rock lunaire et d'un ambient intemporel, folklorique et halluciné : un concept assez déroutant (qui à dit boiteux ?) placé sous le haut patronage de Geoff Barrow (Portishead), qui les signe en 2006 chez son label Invada Records. Quelques semaines plus tard paraît au Royaume-Uni A love of shared disasters, premier opus du collectif aussi éclectique qu'hétéroclite. Pour l'hexagone, il faudra attendre quelques mois (le printemps 2007) et une distribution via Differ-Ant.
